Azra Kim, LCSW received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and her M.S.W. in Interpersonal Practice/Mental Health from the University of Michigan School of Social Work.
She then completed a two-year post-graduate fellowship at the University of Michigan Health System’s Department of Psychiatry, where she primarily treated individuals experiencing anxiety disorders and perinatal/postpartum-related distress. During this time, she received specialized training in several evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depressive disorders, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Following her fellowship, she joined the Anxiety Disorders Treatment Clinic at the University of Michigan Health System’s Department of Psychiatry as a staff therapist. In this role, she provided individual and group therapy for anxiety and anxiety-related disorders and delivered manualized CBT interventions as part of an NIH-funded clinical research study examining the neurocircuit mechanisms of OCD. After relocating to California, she worked within a large health system and a tech-based corporate wellness center before establishing her private practice.
She is a certified graduate of the Trichotillomania Learning Center’s Professional Training Institute for Trichotillomania and Related Behaviors, as well as the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute for OCD. She also holds a Certification in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International.
